22nd Street Lighting, Illinois
Brighter, cleaner light for the Village of Oak Brook
Aiming to achieve more energy-efficient lighting, the village of Oak Brook, Illinois, worked with WE-EF to replace outdated high-pressure sodium street lighting for new, long-lasting LED luminaires.

Key considerations
The RFL540-SE, with its circular form factor, was selected to complement existing round fixtures around Oak Brook. Mounted on 40-foot poles along 22nd Street, a main corridor, the RFL540-SE met IES RP-8 Roadway Lighting standards for IDOT and the village. The result is an output of 1 footcandle across six lanes of traffic.
Creating a new lighting standard
Now a standard in the village’s public works system and DLC Certified for rigorous energy and quality requirements, the RFL makes Oak Brook’s street lighting upgrades easier and more sustainable with seamless installation and maintenance. It’s low glare and high performance improves visual quality for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians while minimizing environmental impacts.
